Goosepond Mtn. State Park astronomical observatory
Yesterday, Orange County Chapter members, Doc and Clif mounted a quick expedition into Goosepond Park to locate a reported "huge lime kiln" ruin. Although we didn't find the kiln, we came across all that remains of the astronomical observatory that once operated in the 1960s or '70s just off Lazy Hill Road in Goosepond Park. Does anyone have any have info about it; who operated it, or any photos of it in operation?
