WE WILL BE EXPLORING THE BERING MINE AND ITS RELATED FEATURES, INCLUDING MINE SHAFTS, SHAFT CRIBBING, OPEN MINE CUTS, EXPLORATORY PITS, TAILINGS/DUMPS, BORROW PITS, STERLING MINE AND RAILWAY SPUR, CELLAR HOLES.......
MEET AT 10:00 AM
at the
ROADSIDE TRAILHEAD located on the northwest side of EAGLE VALLEY ROAD just west of the VILLAGE OF SLOATSBURG, NY, a short distance north of its junction with STERLING MINE ROAD.
Bring your lunch and something to share. Hike will require a short initial uphill climb along an overhead powerline access road, but will be mostly on level woods roads with off-road excursions to view the mine features. We will toast the New Year at the first mine stop.
