Friends of the Fishkill Supply Depot Annual Meeting and Election

Annual Meeting and Election:
Saving America's Last Great Revolutionary War Site
Dear Friends of the Fishkill Supply Depot,
FOFSD will soon be holding its annual meeting and the election of new Trustees. We are accepting nominations for new board members starting now and invite you to attend the annual meeting, to be held on January 26, 2013. The schedule is as follows:
Nominations may be made from now until January 5, 2012. … Please send nominations to webmaster@fishkillsupplydepot.org and include the nominee's name and email address (and/or phone number) as well as your own. Four of the current nine (4 of 9) board positions will be filled through this election, as the top 4 vote-getters will become trustees. Once elected, these new board members will serve for 2 years. With this (2013) election, the annual election of board members will occur in groups of 5 and 4 board members, with each respective group serving two-year terms.
Nominees will be contacted to determine acceptance of their nominations, and those who accept will be asked to provide a brief bio and reason for seeking board membership by January 9th.
The final slate of candidates will be announced via email and Facebook and on our website on January 12th. FOFSD is an open membership organization; anyone who is interested in and supportive of our organizational goals may cast a ballot (by email) in advance of the annual meeting. Election participants may vote for up to 4 candidates, with no more than one vote per candidate.
The annual meeting will be held (Saturday, January 26, 2012 at 11 am) in the Cross Room at the East Fishkill Community Library (348 NY Route 376, Hopewell Junction, NY). All supporters of FOFSD are encouraged to attend the annual meeting (and we hope you will). Refreshments will be served at a meet-and-greet style event that will end with a discussion of our goals for 2013. Ballots will be available at the meeting, votes will be counted, and election results announced. [Note: Those persons who voted by e-mail will not be permitted to cast an additional vote at the annual meeting.]
We ask that you start sending in nominations now, consider joining the board, and mark your calendars for the annual meeting!
With gratitude,
The Board of Trustees of the Friends of the Friends of the Fishkill Supply Depot

Holiday Party Grab-Bag

The December meeting will feature the third Holiday Grab-Bag. Here are the rules:

  1. You can attend the meeting and not participate in the grab-bag.
  2. Anyone who wishes to participate in the grab-bag needs to contribute a gift.
  3. Although archaeological themes are welcome, other gift ideas are also acceptable such as baked items. In other words, simply use your imagination.
  4. We are suggesting the value of the gift be up to $10.
  5. All gifts need to be wrapped and identified as to gender specific if needed.
  6. All participants draw a number.
  7. Number 1 goes first followed by consecutive numbers.
  8. Upon taking a gift it needs to be opened and shown to the group.
  9. Following number 1 each of the other participants can either take a gift from the table or from one of the other participants with a lower number, however you cannot take the same gift back twice in the same turn.
  10. If your gift is taken you can go back to the table and take another gift, or take a gift from another person.
  11. After all the numbers are completed and gifts opened, the person with number one can exchange their gift with anyone they choose.
  12. All participants are encouraged to take a gift from another person if they like that gift. This is what makes it more interesting. So don’t be bashful.
